A Very Big Day

Today is the most anticipated day of the season. It is not the first day on the ice, it isn't the first game and it isn't even the first day of the play-offs... What day could possibly out rank all of the above?!?

Jersey Day!

This is the most important day in any 9 year old's hockey season, the day when they can secure their hockey hero's number or be left with some losers number.

Clearly everyone wants Alfie's #11, Spezza's #19 or Fisher's #12....conversly, no one wants #15 once worn by the selfish, turn-coat Dany Heatley.

Practice is scheduled to begin at 10:15 AM but the coach said first come first served for jersey numbers so Quinn is ready to go at 9:30....

What the heck, Jersey Day only comes once a year.

We get to the rink 30 minutes early and we are the first ones there. Quinn gets his first choice, he immediately heads to #11 but upon further inspection it was older, dirty and quite large. Quinn has another look around and settles on....

Quinn wore this number last year and had his best season to date, maybe #21 has some more magic left in it. Time will tell.

Go Blazers!!
